Runoff election will be August 5.  Winner will face Republican John Boshart in November.

 

Coroner

D-Sam Beck 1539 (71%)
D-Clint Harbin (29%)

No republican opposition, meaning Beck will be the next coroner.

 

County Commissioner Post 1

R-Nannette Curran 899 (55%)                    D-Will Nichols 1471 (68%)

R-Cary Thomas 733 (45%)                          D-Pat Marcellino, Sr. 691 (32%)

 

County Commissioner Post 2

D-Tom Garrison 1025 (52%)

D-Steve Wilson  958 (48%)

No republican opposition, meaning Garrison will be the next commissioner post 2. 

 

Board of Education Post 3

R-Davis Bauman 1196 (69%)

R-Danny Flory 549 (31%)

Bauman will face Democrat Woody Blalock in November.

 

UNCONTESTED RACES

Current Clerk of Superior Court Holly Henry Perry is unopposed and will remain at her position.

Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Brian Rickman is unopposed.

Current Board of Education member David Smith is unopposed for post 5.  Member Wayne Stephens is also unopposed for his post 1 Board of Education.

 

OTHER FACTS:

*RUNOFF ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, August 5 (if necessary)

*GENERAL ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, November 4

*Current Probate Judge Lillian Garrett is being challenged by Anthony “Bear” Welch.  The position is non-partisan and will be decided in November.

*County Commissioner Post 3 will be decided in November between republican Katheryn Granberg and Democrat Neal Williams.

*GA State Representative 8th District-Democrat and incumbent Charles Jenkins will face republican Stephen Allison in the General Election.

GA State Senator District 50: A runoff election will take place between Nancy Schaefer (I) and Jim Butterworth.
